A Laid-Back Coastal Wedding at Brant Beach Yacht Club

Some wedding days feel rushed.

This wasn’t one of them.

Lauren and Tyler planned a day that moved at its own pace—bare feet in the sand, steady ocean air, and enough room to actually feel everything as it happened. No overstuffed timeline. No pressure to perform. Just a coastal wedding that let the day breathe.

Brant Beach Yacht Club couldn’t have been a better setting for it.

A Calm Start by the Bay

The morning began with warm sun rolling across the bay and that quiet, unmistakable calm you only get near the water. Lauren’s dress hung from a simple driftwood arch right on the sand—nothing overstyled, nothing forced. Just soft light, salt air, and a bride who couldn’t stop smiling.

She spent those early moments barefoot, taking it all in. No rushing. No nerves. Just excitement.

This kind of light—natural, open, and honest—is exactly why coastal venues like this photograph so beautifully. Everything feels real because it is.

Quiet Moments Before “I Do”

Tyler got ready nearby, dressed in a light gray suit that fit the relaxed elegance of the day perfectly. Against the still water, he had a few quiet moments to himself before guests arrived—those in-between minutes that often end up meaning the most.

No hype. No spectacle. Just anticipation and calm confidence.

A Ceremony That Felt Like Them

The ceremony took place on the private beach, with guests seated facing the bay and the sun sparkling across the water. A driftwood arch with soft florals framed the space without competing with it.

Lauren and Tyler exchanged vows surrounded by their closest people, the kind of ceremony where emotions ripple through the crowd without needing anything extra. The focus stayed exactly where it should—on the two of them and the people they love.

Portraits, Dog Included

After the ceremony, we kept things easy.

Lauren and Tyler brought their dog along for portraits (always encouraged), which instantly set the tone—playful, personal, and very them. We wandered down to a nearby dock, letting the light and the setting do the heavy lifting.

No stiff posing. No long interruptions. Just space to be together while I quietly documented it.

A Boat Ride During Cocktail Hour

One of the highlights of the day happened while guests headed into cocktail hour—Lauren and Tyler hopped on a boat and cruised out onto the bay as the sun dipped lower.

It was effortless and cinematic without trying to be. Waves catching the light. A few cheers from the shore. One of those moments you don’t plan for perfection, you just let happen.

Those are always the best ones.

A Party That came to life

Inside the yacht club, the reception turned into exactly what it should be—a real celebration. Coastal textures, warm lighting, and a dance floor that stayed full.

Lauren’s star-shaped sunglasses made an appearance. Neon lights flickered. The energy was loose, joyful, and completely unfiltered. Nothing staged. Nothing forced.

Just people having a genuinely good time.

Why This Day Worked So Well

What made this wedding memorable wasn’t just the location or the light (though both were incredible). It was how intentional Lauren and Tyler were about keeping the day true to themselves.

They trusted the process.

They prioritized experience over perfection.

And they gave themselves room to actually enjoy their wedding.

That’s always when the best photographs happen.

Lauren and Tyler’s Brant Beach Yacht Club wedding was a reminder that when you slow things down and focus on what matters, everything else falls into place. It was an honor to document it—and days like this are exactly why I love what I do.

If you’re planning a laid-back coastal wedding and want photography that feels honest, calm, and true to the day, I’d be happy to connect and hear your story.
