MICHAELA & BEN’S OCEAN EDGE RESORT WEDDING | CAPE COD IN BREWSTER, MA

Michaela and Ben’s wedding at Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod was one of those days that just felt right from start to finish.

As someone who has vacationed on Cape Cod every summer since I was a kid, getting to photograph a wedding in Brewster always hits a little differently. So when I found out these two — who I met in New Jersey — were getting married at Ocean Edge, it instantly felt personal.

The best part? I didn’t even know until their engagement session.

From Sea Girt, NJ to Cape Cod

We shot their engagement session in Sea Girt, New Jersey...beach, dunes, wind, the whole Jersey Shore vibe. It was relaxed and easy, which pretty much sums them up.

Somewhere during the session they mentioned they were getting married at Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod. I lit up instantly.

Ocean Edge isn’t just one of the most well-known Cape Cod wedding venues, it’s in a place that’s meant a lot to me for most of my life. I've vacationed on Cape Cod every summer since I can remember. I've driven past Ocean Edge dozens of times. So I made it point to let Michaela and Ben know that I'd love to shoot their wedding.

A Front Lawn Ceremony at the Mansion at Ocean Edge

Michaela and Ben were married on the front lawn of the Mansion at Ocean Edge, and it’s hard to imagine a more classic Cape Cod setting. The historic mansion behind them. That steady coastal breeze that reminds you exactly where you are. It’s elegant without feeling over-the-top. Timeless without trying too hard.

But what really stood out was their families. Both Michaela and Ben come from incredible families who were fully present all day long. The hugs were real. The words were thoughtful. You could feel how proud everyone was of them. It made the whole ceremony feel intimate, even in such a grand setting.

Golden Hour on the Brewster Flats

During the reception, we stepped away for sunset — and this is where Cape Cod really showed off. The tide had rolled out on the Brewster Flats at Ocean Edge, creating that wide-open shoreline Brewster is known for. The light softened, the sky warmed up, and everything slowed down for a few minutes. No complicated setups. No stiff posing.

Just the two of them walking along the flats, her dress catching the breeze, him not taking his eyes off her.

It was easily one of my favorite parts of the day and one of the reasons Ocean Edge Resort is such an incredible Cape Cod wedding venue. You get the elegance of the Mansion and then, minutes later, you’re standing on one of the most unique shorelines in New England.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings at Ocean Edge Resort

Ocean Edge gives you variety...the Mansion, the lawn, the bay views, and access to the Brewster Flats, but it never feels overwhelming. It’s classic Cape Cod.

For me personally, getting to photograph Michaela and Ben’s wedding here felt like blending two parts of my life together — my work in New Jersey and the place I’ve been coming to since I was a kid. From their engagement session in Sea Girt, NJ to their wedding day in Brewster, MA, it felt full circle in the best way.

If you’re planning a wedding at Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod and want natural, candid photography that lets the day unfold without forcing it, I’d love to connect. Cape Cod will always feel a little like home to me and I’m always up for another sunset on the flats.
